IHG Brand Holiday Inn, explained

Holiday Inn is branded as part of the “Essentials collection” under the IHG umbrella and boasts having 1,192 open hotels with 215,841 rooms based across all sites. Last week Skift released an online article going into detail about IHG’s 17 hotel brands and explained them in detail. When discussing the imprint of Holiday Inn, Skift’s input was that as a brand Holiday Inn has grown to be infamous, with the name being mentioned in various pop songs, to the fact that there are an estimated two million people checking in to these hotels every second, according to the IHG website. From this growth, the Holiday Inn Express brand is geared towards shorter stays hence the name whereas the namesake brand is designed for your longer stays – which includes full service as opposed to limited selection. Skift also stated that “The Holiday Inn” is recognisable, tried and true, and people love to come back to what they know.
In 2021, IHG announced a new brand look with an updated identity, the company is focused on strengthening perception, how it engages guests, hotel owners, and colleagues, and better promoting the breadth of its portfolio.
