Christmas in Leicester

Christmas in Leicester

16th November to 7th January

The days are getting shorter, the nights are drawing in, and soon be upon us! Fortunately, Leicester has a fantastic line-up of family fun from 16th November to 7th January to get you into the festive spirit.

The centre of this year’s celebrations is an enormous, real-ice ice rink in Jubilee Square – complete with a clear roof, so you can glide over the ice whatever the weather! Whether you’re a skating pro or taking to the ice for the first time, enjoy a skating experience like no other as you meander beneath the stars and glittering Christmas lights; and, with skating aids available for younger children, the whole family can join in the fun.

After the ice, why not take to the skies on the Christmas Wheel of Light, which is also in Jubilee Square? A ride on the wheel offers a stunning view of the city and its festive lights – and you might just catch a glimpse of Santa and his sleigh, too! Marvel at the giant Christmas tree next to the clock tower; enjoy the fun of the fairground at Humberstone Gate West; or head to the Town Hall Square to see a fairy-tale Christmas tableau and a traditional nativity scene.

Whether you’re visiting with the family, or simply popping into town for some last-minute Christmas shopping, Leicester’s charming celebrations will certainly leave you feeling festive!
