The Phoenix, Leicester has expanded!
Last week The Phoenix revealed that they’ve been working behind the scenes to bring the wonderful people of Leicester a jaw-dropping surprise.
Although this may be new information for some the process for expansion of The Phoenix Leicester dates all the day back to 2016! With support from governing bodies such as Arts Council England, Leicester City Council and years of fundraising to add it’s now all coming to fruition.
The brand new extension will be opening its doors on Friday 20th January and we couldn’t be more excited! During the early months of 2020 the crew were all working behind the scenes to plan exactly how they were going to execute the plan and in September 2022 construction was able to begin.
From Friday 20th January 2023 at 11am you’ll be able to experience all of the new and wonderful additions that The Phoenix Leicester has to offer. This includes two brand spanking new screens and a bigger and better Café Bar for you to enjoy a tipple in! With four screens The Phoenix will now be able to amplify the offering of films that will be on show so make sure all the snacks are at the ready folks!
In addition to this you will now be able to experience amazing artworks from all over the globe right in the heart of Leicester in the brand new gallery! If this wasn’t enough for you to sink your teeth into then keep your eyes peeled because in Spring 2023 The Phoenix is opening a rooftop terrace and we can’t wait to see what they’ve done with the space!
