National Space Centre

The National Space Centre in Leicester is probably one of the finest and most interesting museums in the city of Leicester. It includes six galleries; UK's largest dome planetarium being one of them, along with the iconic Rocket Tower.

As soon as you approach the National Space Centre Museum from the city, you'd be able to see the 42 metre high Rocket Tower seeping into the sky. It's home to the Blue Streak, the Thor Able rockets, The Gagarin Experience, Apollo Lunar Lander and a real Moon Rock. It's a haven for the people pursuing astrology or anything related to space science.

The National Space Centre also invites their visitors to take a round 'Into Space' and come face to face with astronauts, spacesuits and a journey into space.

At the Orbiting Earth Gallery, you will find information on Satellite Navigation, weather forecasting, emergency disaster warnings and understanding the changes our fragile planet is going through.

Walk through the gallery and stop off at Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. Take time out of your journey to drive a Martian rover on the red planet, take a bath with Saturn and even see Venus in 3D.

You can discover the science behind the Search for Extra Terrestrial Intelligence and take a trip through a wormhole and watch the Big Bang Theory all over again at 'The Universe'. Children can take fun pictures with aliens or re-create the Big Bang Theory.
